This hiking day-after session was one for the books!

Audrey & Trevor got married near Matanuska Glacier in Sutton, Alaska and wanted some couples portraits with some glacier views, so the day after their beautiful wedding we trekked out to a nearby mountain trail and hiked all the way to the top. Audrey & Trevor had done this hike before together and they knew it would be the perfect place for their wedding portraits.

When we reached the summit I felt absolutely breathless. I have never seen such a beautiful view from a hike before! For miles you can see the mountains and the beautiful Matanuska Glacier down below. If you’ve ever considering doing a hiking day-after session, views like this make it worth it!

There is something so classic and true-to-Alaska about a hiking day-after session.

It might be the hiking shoes, the dress-stuffed-backpack, the bouquet tied to the outside… Or maybe it’s the journey. The subtle annoyance of mosquito bites that you can’t be bothered to worry about with the newlywed bliss. Feeling slightly out of breath with a slight burning in your legs. Dirt-dusted wedding dresses and muddy boots. Finally reaching the summit – and seeing the most glorious view. Being in nature and taking it all in is what really makes for a true Alaskan wedding experience.
